Mulvey believes that music videos sexualize women to intrigue a certain audience this is found especially in these genres:

1. rap
2. r&b
3. hip-hop
4. pop

this is to appease a patriarchal society with even female artists doing this to themselves e.g Nicki Minaj

the men in the video are staring at her and the camera is focusing on the most 'appealing' body parts
like Mulvey says 'the determining male gaze projects it's fantasy onto the female figure which is styled accordingly' artists like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and Rhianna are perfect examples of female artists that use their videos to deliver to a patriarchal society.
